Myanmar domestic and international airlines have a limited number of flights on a daily basis but that number of flights is growing as the need for both business and pleasure travel are increasing. Currently, Myanmar Airways International and Thai Airways International carry the most volume of passengers. International airport access has been set up in Yangon and there are a few flights to Mandalay. When entering Myanmar, we suggest departing in Bangkok and arriving in Yangon since this is the most popular route to enter Myanmar. There are no long haul flights allowed into Burma with the exception of Qatar Airlines so you will have to enter via selected South East Asian locations.
On the local airline scene, Yangon Airways, Air Mandalay and Air Bagan are the three most widely used carriers. These three carriers land at most large cities and tourists hot spots and there are flights daily.
