Gokteik
The unusual Gokteik railway viaduct is 55 km out of Pyin 00
Lwin en route to Lashio, and according to MlT this is no
longer 'forbidden' territory. Trains and jeeps run up the
spectacular route to Lashio, but you won't be allowed that
far. At Sakhantha, just beyond Gokteik, there is one of the
best examples of Shan architecture -the palace, or Haw, of
the Sawbwa of Hsipaw.
