Bpk 3: Myanmar Ayeyarwaddy

Yangon-Myitkyina-Bamaw-Katha-Nabar-Mandalay-Bagan-Yangon
(10 Days/9 Nights)
(Starting From Yangon)
Day 1: Yangon – Myitkyina (by flight)
Fly to Myitkyina then transfer to hotel. Sightseeing in
Myintkyina include visit to the Ayeyarwaddy River confluence
(2 hours drive) and back. Then take a stroll in the downtown
and overnight in Myitkyina.
Day 2: Myitkyina – Bamaw (by car)
Morning transfer to the bus stand to Bamaw (8 hours
drive). Overnight in Bamaw.
Day 3: Bamaw
Visit to central market in the morning then sightseeing
into Theindawkyi Pagoda, Shwekyinar Pagoda, hot springs and
around the villages. Overnight in Bamaw.
Day 4: Bamaw – Katha (by boat)
In the morning, transfer to the jetty. Take the ferry
boat down to Katha. Enjoy beautiful scenery along the
Ayeyarwaddy River passing through the second defile. Then
proceed down stream to Shweku and traditional pottery work.
Sightseeing in Katha. Overnight in Katha.
Day 5: Katha – Naba – Mandalay (by train)
Morning leisure. In the afternoon,transfer to the train
station to Mandalay . Overnight in the train.
Day 6: Mandalay
Arrive to Mandalay 4:30 am.Morning excursion to Mingun by
boat (11km up river ) from Mandalay on the opposite bank of
Ayeyarwaddy River. Tour highlights includes the huge
unfinished Mingun Pagoda with marble footprint of Buddha,
Mingun Bell which weights 90 tons, and Myatheindan Pagoda
with seven concentric terraces at the base. In the
afternoon, sightseeing in Mandalay. Visit to the venerable
Mahamuni Pagoda, Myanmar traditional handicraft workshops:
marble works and wood carvings, god-leaf making and tapestry
works, Shwe Kyaung (Golden Palace) Monastery, Atumashi
(incomparable) Monastery, Kuthotaw Pagoda, a large Buddha
Image carved out of a single block of marble. Enjoy the
sunset over Mandalay and a panoramic view of the city.
Overnight in Mandalay.
Day 7: Mandalay – Bagan (by boat)
Early morning transfer to jetty to Bagan. The whole day
at leisure on the boat. Enjoy the view along the Ayeyarwaddy
River. Sunset from the boat. Overnight in Bagan.
Day 8: Bagan
Morning visit to Mt. Popa, and extinct volcano, and
generally known as the abode of legendary Nats or spirit
gods for which the annual festival is held during Myanmar
months (May, June). On the top of the mountain, there are
monasteries, pagodas, and shrines in different styles. Have
a good breeze which is passing through from the plain. In
the afternoon, leisure. Overnight in Bagan.
Day 9: Bagan – Yangon (by bus)
In the afternoon, transfer to the bus stand to Yangon (13
hours drive). Overnight in the bus.
Day 10: Yangon
You will arrive in Yangon in the early morning.
