1: Mandalay - Monywa (by car)
Morning drive to Monywa(3 hours drive) from
Mandalay. Sightseeing includes Amarapura,
Myanmar's penultimate royal capital,
Mahargangaryoni Monastery to observe the way of
life of the monks. Sagaing which was an ancient
city in the 15th century. Sightseeing includes
Kaungmutaw Pagoda, an enormous solid dome shaped
pagoda, Ywadaung Village, traditional silver
wears village and picturesque Sagaing Hill, a
retreat for Buddhist devotees with numerous
pagodas and monasteries. On the way, enjoy the
growing rice fields, vegetable plantation and
beautiful landscape. Enjoy the unforgettable
sunset at the Chindwin river. Overnight in
Monywa. |

 Day 2: Monywa
In the morning, drive to Phowun Taung caves, along
mountain shaped caves 492 cave temples built inside the
limestone cliffs between the 14th to 16th century with
over 400,000 ancient Buddha images, statues and murals.
Afternoon visit to
Mohnyin Than Buddha pagoda where more than 500,000
Buddha images are
seated and which is one of the finest monasteries in
Myanmar. Overnight in Monywa.
