Bagan Specialized tour (Horse riding tour)

For tourists who love horseback riding
Nandar Kan Travels has arranged a tour of the Bagan
Archaelogical Zone. On the way from Bagan to Popa you will
observe toddy plant areas and study the life of people who
depend on the plant. Then ride through farms of pulse and
beans and study the life of the farmers. Observe villages
where cotton is grown and study the life of cotton growers.
Next, proceed to villages where y ou can study weaving and
pottery. You will also pass through the village where
articles are made of sand stones. After that you will stop
at a village where you can observe the blacksmith at work.
You will also enjoy seeing the sceneries and natural
viewpoints as you pass through the oasis-like region, dry
plain and rocky mountains. The experience you gain is
exciting when you ride through the springs and forests of
Mr. Popa. Over 4,000 feet above sea level, Popa is a noted
extinct volcano enveloped with natural forest. It is like an
oasis in the tropical area. Arrangements have been made for
day and night camps in the area. From over 2,000 feet you
will start an uphill ride (22 miles) and circle Mt. Popa and
come back to your night camp. This will take one day. The
next day, uphill ride to the peak of Mt. Popa by a different
route. Depending on the route it will cover a minimum of 10
miles or a maximum of over 15 miles for one-day ride.

The above-mentioned routes have been used for 9 years,
following the guidelines of a reputed horseman with
international experience in such routes. On the entire route
of both night camps and day camps food, drinks and radio
telephones will be provided. The well-trained horses you
ride are mixed blood of European stock and local horses and
their heights are 4 ft 10 in to nearly 5 ft and 5in tall.
Detailed information is available on request.
